Hi, I am Melanie, the Founder of Take Away The Walls

 The website title is inspired Erin Kenny’s quote, “Children cannot bounce off the walls if we take away the walls.” Education should not be confined to only four walls.  Children are designed to move and learn with their whole bodies in a natural environment that helps inspire their unique learning abilities.

I believe that every family, educator and school deserves the tools and strategies that empower them to succeed. As a primary educational consultant, I work with families, educators and schools to design practical, personalized solutions for their unique needs. Whether a parent is having a difficult time with their child’s social & emotional skills, supporting schools with professional development, or empowering educators with new tools they can utilize in the classroom, my goal is simple: to help you and our next generations thrive.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from a small town in Florida. While working on my degree I gained experience and training from a NAEYC accredited lab school & training program. During that time, I was active in local Education Associations and spoke on developmentally appropriate practices at a conference hosted by one of the ECE Associations. Years later, I moved to Georgia and I quickly became involved with various non-profits advocating for children’s education, and state policies. I am passionate about play-based learning and helping people help children.

When I am not working on business plans or brainstorming solutions for clients, you can find me streaming Taylor Swift, on a hiking trail soaking up nature, or at the beach with a good book!
